Shaughna Phillips shows off lipoedema surgery results and says legs were 'abnormally large'

Shaughna Phillips has shared photos of the results of her surgery to treat lipoedema.

The Love Island 2020 star, 26, took to her Instagram account on Sunday afternoon to share before and after photos, saying that her legs were "abnormally large" before her operation.

Lipoedema is a condition in which a person has an abnormal build-up of fat in their legs that can sometimes be painful.

Shaughna got diagnosed with lipoedema after she appeared on the ITV2 reality TV show, and she admitted that her legs were her "biggest insecurity".

In the before snaps, Shaughna show off her legs in skimpy clothing before her surgery.

The after photos showed her wearing a white dressing gown and a pair of nude heels.

Her legs look noticeably slimmer and she appears more conifdent.

Shaughna captioned the photos: "SCREAMING INTERNALLY AT THE THOUGHT OF POSTING THIS BUT HERE IT GOES.

"As a lot of my followers will know, I was diagnosed with a condition called Lipoedema after appearing on Love Island.

"Before being on the show my BIGGEST insecurity was my abnormally large legs that were out of proportion to the rest of my body.

"I didn't know it was a condition I just thought I had horrible legs and had to get over myself lol.

"But it wasn't until I saw the 100s of messages that were sent to my account while I was away, asking if I had been diagnosed with Lipoedema, once I saw them and Googled the condition, I could have cried with the relief of knowing the reason for why my legs looked the way they did.

She went under the knife back in September (Instagram)

"There were so many nasty comments made about my legs while I was in the villa, and to be completely honest I agreed with most of them.. But it only heightened my insecurity even more, and made me feel like it wasn't my little secret anymore, and I felt like wherever I would go that would be the first thing people would notice about me.

"Since having my surgery in September to treat the condition, it has been a long and painful recovery, and to be completely honest, I don't think I quite saw a difference until I saw the picture on the left the other day.

"I can't believe how different my legs look today, I can't even believe they are my legs (I have an actual visible calf muscle)."
