'Shattered' - Why former Nottingham Forest boss Philippe Montanier has been sacked from latest job

A "shattered" dynamic led to former Nottingham Forest head coach Philippe Montanier being sacked from his latest job in management, at RC Lens.

The Frenchman was axed from his first club management job since departing the City Ground, despite RC Lens being in third place in Ligue 2.

"There were a number of identified problems," explained RC Lens director Arnaud Pouille.

"The dynamic was broken, it had shattered.

"There was a dynamic of poor performance since January with three poor performances against Grenoble (0-0), in Châteauroux (2-3) and the slap received in Bollaert against Caen (1-4). The energy seemed to have disappeared.

"These reasons prompted us to opt for a correction. We took the unanimous decision to entrust the pro group to Franck Haise until the end of the season."
