Hospitals in Leeds saw a sharp rise in coronavirus deaths after two days where the city reported zero new fatalities.
A further 26 patients in Yorkshire hospitals have died after testing positive for coronavirus, NHS England reports - with eight recorded deaths in Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust in the last 24 hours.
The Yorkshire death toll now stands at 2,068, while the UK hospital death toll has passed 36,000, to 36,042.
Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust also recorded eight deaths, joining Leeds as the hardest hit trusts in the county in the last 23 hours.
Today's update from NHS England said a further 187 people, who tested positive for Covid-19 have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 25,266.
Patients were aged between 14 and 98 years old. Six of the 187 patients (aged between 46 and 94) had no known underlying health condition. Their families have been informed.
