Sharon Stone’s French blue front door is the curb appeal upgrade designers say instantly transforms a home and will never go out of style

Sharon Stone.

It's no secret that front door colors can boost curb appeal. As one of the first elements of a home that we see, its contributions to a property's value cannot be underestimated.

With that being said, if you're looking for front door color ideas, might we propose Sharon Stone's bluish-gray rendition?

The Basic Instinct star recently shared a clip of herself exiting her home on her Instagram page, and we were immediately drawn to her pale blue door – and experts agree that it's one of the best color choices to upgrade curb appeal.

According to experts, opting for a pale or grayish blue, like Sharon's, is a fantastic way to elevate your home's exterior.

'If you’re seeking a more classic and sophisticated look, a French blue is an excellent option,' says Victoria Holly, principal and founder of Victoria Holly Interiors in Los Angeles.

'This neutral gray-blue adds a touch of elegance and complements a wide range of exterior color schemes. It can create a subtle, understated entrance while allowing other design elements, such as architectural features or landscaping, to make a statement. Some specific paint color recommendations include Benjamin Moore Timber Wolf or Benjamin Moore Coventry Gray.'

Alternatively, Victoria says that a teal blue can also infuse your home's exterior with some rich yet subdued blues, perfect for drawing people in.

'If you want to infuse your home with a sense of coastal charm or playfulness, consider a teal or aqua front door,' she explains.

'A refreshing blue shade brings a sense of tranquility and uniqueness to your exterior. Teal can be an unexpected but delightful choice that works well with both light and dark house colors. It's a great way to add a pop of color that connects with the natural surroundings. Some specific paint color recommendations include Benjamin Moore Aegean Teal or Benjamin Moore Gray Cashmere.'
