Sharon Osbourne is “not OK” following the death of her husband Ozzy Osbourne, her son Jack has revealed in a moving new interview.
The couple, who were married for more than 40 years, had recently returned to their Buckinghamshire estate to enjoy their retirement together, but the Black Sabbath frontman’s health took a sudden turn and he passed away at home in July aged 76.
Sharon was last seen at a public memorial for her late husband in Birmingham, where she was visibly emotional as she watched fans pay tribute. Since then, she has withdrawn from public life to grieve privately, with her children stepping in to thank fans for their support.
Speaking on Good Morning America to promote his dad’s new memoir Last Rites, Jack admitted his mother was finding life without Ozzy incredibly difficult. “You know, when people have been asking me that question, I say, ‘She’s OK, but she’s not OK,’” he said.

“None of us expected it to be like this, with that outpour of love. Every child sits there and kind of has this thought about one day that parents won’t be there, and what will that be like. We just didn’t think of it. It was a different weight to it.”
In a video released after Ozzy’s funeral, Sharon also thanked fans for their messages of love and condolences. Appearing alongside daughter Kelly, she said: “I’m still having trouble finding the words to express how grateful I am for the overwhelming love and support you’ve shown. Your comments, posts and tributes have brought me more comfort than you know. Though I’m still finding my footing.”
Before his death, Ozzy credited Sharon with saving his life, saying he would “definitely be six feet under” without her. In his final documentary, Ozzy: No Escape From Now, he said: “If it wasn’t for Sharon Osbourne, I wouldn’t be here now. I wouldn’t be sober. I’d be six foot under without a shadow of a doubt. The one thing I did right was have my Sharon.”
Sharon, meanwhile, has faced her own health battles, including a colon cancer diagnosis in 2002. Speaking recently to Metal Hammer, she admitted she continued working through her treatment because she didn’t want her family to know how sick she was.
Now, Sharon faces the painful decision of whether to stay in the UK home she and Ozzy built together or return to Los Angeles to be closer to her children and grandchildren.
A source close to the family said: “Sharon’s world has been torn apart. They had a clear plan for how they wanted to spend their time together, but she didn’t get to do any of it with Ozzy. It’s so sad.”
