Sharm El Sheikh flights from Glasgow to be reintroduced by Tui

Flights from Glasgow Airport to Sharm El Sheikh are to be reintroduced by travel firm Tui in 2020.

The ban on flights between the UK and Sharm el-Sheikh waslifted after nearly four years in October.

The Department for Transport announced it had lifted the restriction due to improvements in security procedures at the Egyptian resort's airport as well as co-operation between the UK and Egypt on aviation security.

Flights from Glasgow to Sharm El Sheikh will be introduced from November 4 next year, in time for holiday-makers looking for some winter sun.

The Egyptian resort was a popular destination with tourists until all flights were halted in November 2015 following the bombing of a Russian airliner, with Islamic State jihadis claiming responsibility for the attack.
