Shark TurboBlade Cool + Heat review: a quality fan to keep you cool in summer and warm in winter

Shark TurboBlade Cool + Heat.

With the days drawing shorter and the chill setting in, now’s the time when a reliable heater earns its keep – and Shark’s TurboBlade Cool + Heat offers more than just seasonal warmth.

This all-season fan and heater combo promises strong airflow in summer and quick, even heat in winter, making it a versatile addition to any living space.

Priced to rival Dyson’s Hot + Cool range, it blends style, performance, and value for those who want one appliance that does it all. After using the TurboBlade for a while, it proves itself as a sturdy, well-built unit that heats fast, cools efficiently, and feels genuinely useful year-round.

Shark TurboBlade Cool + Heat review: Price and Availability

The Shark TurboBlade is currently priced at around £349.99 / $399.99, and available directly from Shark and major retailers including Very.

The pricing definitely positions it firmly in the premium bracket – a similar range to Dyson’s Hot + Cool line – but you’re getting a device designed for year-round use rather than a single-season appliance.

Given its sturdy build and dual functionality, the asking price feels reasonable if you plan to use both heating and cooling modes regularly.

Shark TurboBlade Cool + Heat review: Design

Straight out of the box, the TurboBlade immediately feels like a premium piece of kit – tall, sculptural, and built to make a statement rather than blend into the background.

Its twin rotating arms create a modern, almost futuristic profile, and the finish feels every bit as solid as its price suggests. That weight gives it stability on the floor, but also makes it a little awkward to move around, so you’ll likely pick a spot and leave it there.

Build quality is excellent, with sturdy materials and clean detailing that fit neatly into a contemporary living room or bedroom. The gloss on the fan blades and vents looks sleek, though it does have a downside: fingerprints show up easily, meaning a quick wipe-down is needed to keep it looking its best.

The magnetic remote that docks neatly on top is a thoughtful touch, and the overall setup feels intuitive from the moment it’s powered on.

Shark TurboBlade Cool + Heat review: Features

The TurboBlade is built for versatility, offering a mix of heating and cooling modes that make it genuinely useful across the seasons.

The controls are refreshingly simple – a clear display and well-labelled buttons let you switch between functions, while the magnetic remote allows you to adjust speed, temperature, and oscillation from the sofa.

Sadly, there’s no companion app or smart-home integration, which some might expect at this price, but in practice its simplicity works in its favour.

It heats up impressively fast, reaching a comfortable temperature within minutes, and the dual airflow system distributes warm or cool air evenly across the room.

You can tweak the airflow angle by rotating the twin arms, helping to target specific areas rather than relying on a single column of air.

Noise levels are moderate (audible on higher settings but never intrusive) and Shark has kept energy use in check, with my own testing via my Smart Meter showing around 6p per hour in fan mode and 30p per hour on full heat.

Shark TurboBlade Cool + Heat review: Performance

The TurboBlade delivers solid results in both modes, with its cooling performance standing out in particular. The twin rotating arms push air evenly across a room, creating a refreshing breeze that feels immediate rather than gradual.

It’s noticeably stronger than most tower fans I've used, and you can direct the airflow exactly where you want it, which is perfect for staying comfortable on warmer days without needing to crank the settings.

Switching to heating mode, the fan impresses with how quickly it warms up. Within a few minutes, it begins to take the edge off a chilly space, and my testing shows a fairly negligible energy use on the top heat setting.

That makes it a cost-effective option for short bursts of warmth, though it’s better suited to smaller or well-insulated rooms than large open spaces.

Day to day, the TurboBlade feels stable and reliable in operation. It’s heavy to move, but that weight gives it reassuring sturdiness while running.

Shark TurboBlade Cool + Heat review: Verdict

The TurboBlade Cool + Heat feels like a product designed by people who actually live with their appliances. It’s not trying to reinvent the wheel – just to make year-round comfort easier, smarter, and more stylish.

What stands out most is the sense of refinement in the experience: the gentle ramp-up of heat, the way the fan arms adjust with precision, and the reassuring sturdiness that makes it feel like it’ll last many seasons.

It’s clear that Shark has focused on practicality over gimmicks. The lack of smart-home integration might put off some buyers, but in reality, it helps keep the experience simple.

The build quality also inspires confidence; it feels like a serious piece of kit, even if that comes with extra weight when moving it around.

While it won’t replace a central heating system or chill a whole flat in a heatwave, it strikes a sweet spot for everyday use.

For those who value reliability, thoughtful design, and year-round comfort in one well-made package, the TurboBlade Cool + Heat more than earns its place.
