Shark Tracey leaves NRL game in stretcher

Tariq Sims may have played his last game for St George Illawarra after making shoulder contact with Connor Tracey's head in his side's NRL match against Cronulla.

Play stopped for roughly eight minutes at PointsBet Stadium as Tracey lay motionless on the field, apparently knocked out before he hit the ground.

The winger left the field on a stretcher and will not return for the remainder of the game.

Sims was given 10 minutes in the sin bin, earning the ire of the pro-Sharks crowd who believed a send-off was warranted.

The match review committee looks certain to charge Sims on Sunday morning and given he has already been banned once this season, will be looking at a lengthier suspension than otherwise.

Sims joins Melbourne next season and with the Dragons' finals hopes hanging by a thread and only four regular season games remaining, he may not be seen again this season.
