The 8th edition of the International Government Communication Forum (IGCF) themed "Behavioral Change towards Human Development" is set to kick off on March 20, with the participation of 70 experts from all over the world, in 37 discussion panels, workshops, and interactive forums.
In this year's IGCF, Sharjah aims at discussing mechanisms of human behavior analysis, adopting awareness strategies, and changing individual behavior. The forum also seeks to enhance a new social perspective of education, changing the health-related mindset, and rooting positivity and sustainable happiness.
"When we study the development of some countries, we see that they adopted long-term communication strategies that were consolidated through an advanced approach focused on the 'positive change model' applied by government entities. One important branch of this model is aimed at building positive change in the minds and outlook of communities, and empowers them to partner with governments," Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, chairman of the Sharjah Media Council (SMC), said in a press conference on Monday.
For his part, Tariq Allay, director of Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB), said: "IGCF will be featuring an Expo 2020 platform, which will unveil the '50 Years of Expo' exhibition to encapsulate the UAE’s engagement with world expos since 1970. The forum will also host special guests like US media personality Larry King and filmmaker and social activist, Richard Williams."
An 'Arab Government Communication Leaders Forum' will also be organized on the sidelines of IGCF 2019, aiming at exchanging ideas, expertise, and creative thinking to reach creative proposals and solutions addressing the challenges discussed in the forum.
