An attack on an LGBT nightclub in Orlando has left at least 50 people dead in what is the worst mass shooting in American history. The gunman, Omar Mateen, was killed after Swat teams stormed the club and rescued 30 hostages early Sunday morning.
Barack Obama described the events as “an especially heartbreaking day for all of our friends and fellow Americans who are lesbian, gay, transgender and bisexual” and ordered the flag above the White House to be set at half-staff.
We’d like to hear from you, whether you’re in Orlando or at a vigil around the world, about your reaction to the attacks. Share your tributes and reaction with GuardianWitness. A selection of contributions will be featured in our coverage.
