Paul Daniels, the much loved entertainer who marvelled millions through TV series The Paul Daniels Magic Show, which ran on the BBC from 1979 to 1994, has died aged 77.

Having suffered from a brain tumour that was diagnosed in February, Daniels spent his last few days at home in Berkshire, but his death will stir memories around the nation.

With his catchphrase “You’ll like this … not a lot, but you’ll like it”, his show drew in audiences of 15 million at its peak and was sold on to 43 countries.

In addition to performing magic, Daniels hosted popular quiz shows for the BBC including Every Second Counts, Odd One Out and Wipeout, as well as narrating the children’s TV show Wizbit.

We’d like to share your memories of Paul Daniels and his magic. Did you watch him as a child or with your children? What did his shows mean to you? Perhaps you met him, or maybe he even inspired your own forays into illusion?
