Following violent riots in recent days, the prime minister, Keir Starmer, has promised to “ramp up criminal justice” and add more than 500 extra prison places.

On Sunday, around 700 people gathered outside the Holiday Inn Express in Rotherham before clashing with police, as a far-right-led mob of masked rioters tried to set fire to a hotel housing asylum seekers. By Tuesday, over 400 people had been arrested in connection with riots and disorder.

We’d like to hear from people across the country about their reaction to the riots that have taken place. We’re also interested in hearing from those who have been affected.
