From major cities to quiet neighbourhoods, holiday light displays crop up everywhere. Owners and renters alike deck their roofs, porches, windows and yards with glowing, blinking decorations to celebrate the festive season.
Now we’re asking you to help us document the best of the best in your neighbourhood.
Thanks to Guardian reader ID4153781 for sharing this one from New York City last year:
For some families, getting in the car and driving through the places they live or surrounding towns just to see the light displays is as much a holiday tradition as opening presents. While most households are content to just look pretty, some families really go for it – some homes are equipped with light displays that flash and change in coordination with holiday music.
We want to see your pictures and videos of Christmas and holiday light displays. So wherever you are this season, share your pictures and videos of Christmas lights displays, large and small. We will feature our favourite selections in a gallery.
You can share your photos and videos with us by clicking on the blue “Contribute” buttons or via the link at the end of this article. If you’re out and about, you can download the GuardianWitness app or look for our assignments in the new Guardian app. We will publish the most interesting contributions on the Guardian website.
