The east coast is braced for blizzards, dangerous high winds and potential flooding on Friday. A state of emergency has been declared in Washington DC, as well as Tennessee, North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania.
While it is hoped the storm will not be as bad as Superstorm Sandy, heavy snowfall and disruption is expected across the region.
Schools in Washington DC will be closed on Friday, with government offices shutting down from noon.
