A new Ordnance Survey calculation says Ben Nevis has “grown” by one metre since the mountain was last surveyed in 1949.
The change, which will be displayed on all new OS digital and paper maps, is not down to a geological movement but is simply due to improvements in technology that allow a more accurate reading. Though the precise measurement has moved only by a few centimetres The Ben now comes in at 1,345 metres.
Have you climbed Ben Nevis? If not perhaps you’ve admired the mountain from a distance and have taken some striking shots. Either way we’d like to hear from you.
