Shardul Thakur to play Mumbai's practice match at BKC

MUMBAI: If India's forthcoming tour of South Africa is cancelled, India's star players could be seen playing in the forthcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy after a long time.

TOI has learnt that India pacer Shardul Thakur, who got engaged to girlfriend Mittali Parulkar on Tuesday, will play a practice game with the rest of the Mumbai squad at the Mumbai Cricket Association's BKC facility on Wednesday. "Though he's currently on a break, Thakur wants to be in touch with the game, and that's why is keen to play," said a source.

Sources have confirmed to TOI that Thakur has made it clear that if the SA tour doesn't go ahead, then he will turn out for Mumbai in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, which will begin from December 8, with Mumbai playing their league matches at Thiruvananthapuram.
