Sharad Pawar forms national committee of his party

MUMBAI: A day after he was unanimously elected as the president of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) for the eight consecutive term, Sharad Pawar on Thursday constituted the national executive committee of the party.

Praful Patel will be national vice-president, while Lok Sabha member Sunil Tatkare will be the chief general secretary. Former minister Jeetendra Awhad will be the general secretary, former minister Chhagan Bhujbal, leader of Opposition. Ajit Pawar, Dilip Walse Patil and Baramati MP Supriya Sule will be on the national executive committee.

Due to differences with Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Pawar, along with Tariq Anwar, had set up NCP in 1999. tnn
