Shaquille O’Neal stopped to help a stranded driver on a Florida highway

While driving on Interstate 75 near Gainesville, Fla., former NBA great Shaquille O’Neal witnessed a motorist blow out her tire and get left stranded at the side of the road.

But rather than continue on his way, Shaq stopped his car to lend a helping hand.

According to the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office, when officers arrived at the scene to respond to the crash, the NBA Hall of Famer was there waiting with the driver. Shaq had stayed at the scene to make sure the driver was OK and remained there for first responders to arrive.

The Alachua County Sheriff’s Office released video of the scene in a Facebook post.

They wrote:

Yesterday, Shaquille O’Neal was traveling through Alachua County on I-75 when he witnessed a crash. He stopped to check on the welfare of the driver and remained with her until law enforcement arrived. He fist bumped Deputies Purington and Dillon before going on his way. Hey Basketball Cop Foundation you’re not the only one that knows Shaq.

Nicely done, Shaq.
