Shaquille O’Neal said that he and Kobe would beat LeBron and Anthony Davis

In a sense, it’s impressive that the NBA season was able to make it to January without a divisive cross-generational debate that will never get answered. But alas, Jimmy Fallon went there.

During an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Shaquille O’Neal was shown a Photoshopped picture of him and Kobe Bryant taking on the current Lakers’ LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

The Lakers have a West-leading 29-7 record this season, so Fallon wanted Shaq’s take on this hypothetical matchup. Who would win? Shaq and Kobe in their primes against LeBron and Davis?

Predictably, Shaq sided with himself and Kobe in emphatic fashion.

Shaq responded to the question, “Do I think or do I know?” And then added that the answer was “hell yes.”

As Shaq pointed out, these conversations can never get answered unless we wanted to see LeBron and A.D. wipe the floor with the current Kobe and Shaq.

But hey, it’s a fun scenario to think about and, honestly, a refreshing change of pace from the annual LeBron vs. Jordan debates.
