Shaquille O’Neal Pleads Hall of Fame Case for Ex-Lakers Teammate

No matter how long ago you might have played alongside Shaquille O’Neal, the big fella will always have your back.

The NBA legend jumped at an opportunity to state his case for former Lakers teammate Robert Horry’s inclusion in the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame on Sunday night, and he did so emphatically.

O’Neal responded to a prompt on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, that asked whether Horry should be in the Hall of Fame.

“The answer is HMF Yes, and yes I’m yelling,” O’Neal wrote.

Horry, nicknamed “Big Shot Bob” for his clutch postseason shooting, is one of nine players in NBA history to win seven NBA titles.

Horry won three championships alongside O’Neal from 2000 to 2002 with the Lakers. Prior to that, Horry won two titles with the Rockets. Late in his career, he captured two rings with the Spurs.

For his career, Horry only averaged seven points per game, although he was renowned as a clutch postseason contributor.

Those seven rings would count for a lot more if it were up to O’Neal.
