Shaquill Griffin, Jamal Agnew sit out of Jaguars’ Wednesday practice

Jamal Agnew was an unsurprising absence from the Jacksonville Jaguars’ Wednesday practice after the wide receiver and return specialist suffered a knee injury in Week 6. But cornerback Shaquill Griffin missing practice due to a back injury wasn’t expected.

Agnew and Griffin were the only two Jaguars players who didn’t participate at all Wednesday, while four players — DL Folorunso Fatukasi, DT DaVon Hamilton, WR Marvin Jones Jr., and LB Foye Oluokun — were limited. Fatukasi and Jones both missed Week 6.

For the Jaguars’ Week 7 opponent, the New York Giants, there were five players out of action Wednesday, including wide receivers Kenny Golladay and Kadarius Toney. Among those limited were running back Saquon Barkley and left tackle Andrew Thomas.

Barkley was limited in practice all of last week, but was good to go Sunday and finished with 95 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown in a win over the Baltimore Ravens. Through six weeks, Barkley leads the NFL in touches and yards from scrimmage.
