Shaq’s first move as Reebok’s basketball president: signing ‘the GOAT’ Angel Reese

LSU women’s basketball star Angel Reese is a certified baller. After winning a national championship earlier this year, the “Bayou Barbie” is back with a new NIL deal from Reebok and another nickname: “the GOAT.”

From making her best John Cena impression to invoking Joe Burrow at the ESPY’s, Reese has been unapologetically herself as she continues to rack up more wins. As Carbi B. said, I been ballin’ so damn hard, could’ve went to LSU.

Fittingly, Reese is balling out of control (in the best way possible). Per Nick DePaula of Boardroom, NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal, who just landed on the leadership team at Reebok, is making Reese the first athlete to sign an NIL deal with the company.

“For my first appointment in this role, it had to be the GOAT,” said Shaq. “There is no one making a bigger impact on the game right now than Angel Reese.”

Reflecting on her new deal, Reese says, “I am honored to be working closely with one of my longtime mentors, Shaq, along with a brand that I have admired since I was just a little kid. It means the world to me that they trust in me to extend their legacy to a new generation.”

Reese is partnering with Reebok to create a capsule collection that will launch during the back half of 2024. The company will also have her give input on product designs and provide feedback for a relaunch of Reebok Basketball in 2025.

And haters, they gonna hate. Ballers, they gon’ ball.
