Shaquille O’Neal was obviously one of the most dominant NBA players we’ve ever seen in his prime. I don’t know if anyone had a more devastating drop step move than him. That was his go-to on his way to 4 championships.
You know what wasn’t his go-to, though? Shooting. Shooting of any kind. Free throw shooting, shooting from midrange, shooting from deep range. None of it. Shaq just wasn’t a shooter at all.
But, despite that being the case, Shaq said he’d never shoot as badly as 1-13 from 3-point range if he had LeBron James kicking the ball out to him. Never.
“Listen. I’m not a shooter, but I’m not going to go 1-13. Guarantee you that. Wide open, nobody guarding me? I’m not going to go 1-13.”
Candace Parker challenged him on that. “At the 3-point line, you’re not going to go 1-13?” Of course, this ended with Shaq demanding the ball. He had to prove her wrong.
And, ultimately…he did? Though it definitely didn’t look pretty.

Alright, so 1-8 is pretty bad. Definitely not a “Shaqovic” worthy performance to say the least. But it’s also not 1-13! NBA fans had a blast with this one.
