Shankill Road shop worker threatened with screwdriver during robbery

A female shop worker was threatened with a large screwdriver during a robbery on the Shankill Road on Sunday evening.

A man entered the store wearing a face mask and blue surgical gloves and approached a woman around 6pm.

Police said: "This man produced a large screwdriver and threatened the worker. She was able to get away from him and into a staff room along with another colleague.

"The robber then used the screwdriver to pry open the till before making off with a sum of money."

The robber is described as in his 50s and around 5’ 8” tall .

He was wearing jeans, a navy or grey jacket with a white stripe, a dark flat cap, a blue and white face covering and blue surgical gloves.

Detectives investigating the have asked that a nyone with information regarding this crime is asked to contact police by calling 101, quoting reference 1346 25/10/20. You can also submit information online using our non-emergency reporting form via http://www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/.
