Shankill Road Belfast incident sees taxi driver robbed at knifepoint

A taxi driver has been robbed at knifepoint in Belfast this morning.

The driver was robbed on the Shankill Road after taking a man and woman from the Shore Road just after 1am on Monday, May 20.

Responding officers arrested a 32-year-old woman and 31-year-old man a short distance away.

Lurgan home targeted as shots fired while three people inside  

Inspector David McBride said: "The driver was robbed in the Shankill Road area after taking a male and female from the Shore Road just after 1am this morning.

"The pair then made off on foot but were detained by responding officers a short distance away."

The pair remain in police custody this morning.
