Shania Twain addresses on-stage accident after falling on her bum as fans express relief

Shania Twain has addressed her on-stage accident that saw the country music icon fall over and land on her bum mid-performance - before recovering seamlessly.

The 57-year-old Canadian star was performing a gig on her Queen of Me Tour while on-stage at the Credit Union 1 Amphitheater in Tinley Park, Chicago on Saturday night.

During her hit, Don't Be Stupid, Shania took a tumble with her landing on her bum in front of a packed crowd. But she didn't let that stop her from putting on a glitzy show for her loyal legion of fans.

And now the country icon has addressed the tumble, with her taking to Twitter to make light of the on-stage accident. Shania shared a news article about the fall she suffered over the weekend and wrote: "I did stick the landing though," complete with a winking face emoji.

Fans were quick to comment on her tweet, with many expressing how relieved they were that she was okay after she slipped over and fell. "Glad you're OK," penned one. While another said: "Oh no, I'm so glad you made a quick recovery."

A third person wrote: "You were a strong trooper Shania! Thank you for the beautiful show last night. I was in the 12th row. I don’t usually sit up so close so it was really something. I’m glad you’re all right too! Thank you again."

"You put on such a great show last night. So glad you’re alright after that little slip," added a fourth. While a fifth went on to say: "Done perfectly Queen."

The news of Shania's fall emerged yesterday, with a video circulating online that was obtained by TMZ. In the clip Shania could be seen falling to the ground without losing composure once and continuing to sing to the masses of fans in the crowd.

Singing along while falling to the floor, Shania was quick to hop back onto her feet and continue the performance. An eyewitness told the outlet that Shania didn't look injured "at all" and didn't even stop for a break.
