Shani Tarashaj opens up on his Everton exit and makes Roberto Martinez claim

Shani Tarashaj has opened up on his Everton exit and believes Roberto Martinez’s sacking was the beginning of the end for him.

Tarashaj left the Goodison Park club last month after his two-year loan deal with Dutch club FC Emmen ended prematurely.

Tarashaj joined the Blues from Grasshopper Club Zurich in 2016 before spending two loan spells back at the Swiss club either side of a temporary stint with Eintracht Frankfurt.

He joined FC Emmen on loan at the start of last season, with Everton agreeing to extend his contract by another 12 months to facilitate a two-year move.

However, FC Emmen opted to terminate his deal last month and the 25-year old then left Everton as a result having not made a single first team appearance.

"I had to leave this negative spiral and draw a line,” he told Swiss newspaper Blick.

"My last three years have been one story of suffering. I want to start from scratch."

The man behind the signing was Roberto Martinez, who was sacked by the Blues in May 2016 with his side 12th in the Premier League table.

And Tarashaj believes things may have turned out differently for him had Martinez kept his job as he had a ’very precise idea’ on how to introduce him into the Premier League.

He added: "(Roberto) Martinez had a very precise idea of how he would introduce me to the Premier League.

“He fully trusted me and my abilities. His dismissal was just bad luck for me."
