Shani Tarashaj leaves Everton after loan deal cancelled prematurely

Shani Tarashaj has officially left Everton.

The Swiss forward had his two-year loan with FC Emmen ended prematurely, with the Dutch side confirming the decision earlier today.

Everton signed Tarashaj from Grasshopper Zurich in January 2016 for around £3m but he failed to make an impact at first-team level.

The Blues extended Tarashaj’s contract by an extra 12 months last summer to help make his loan to Emmen possible, who were set to pay his remaining Everton wages over the course of two years, rather than one.

Everton were only due to pay Tarashaj for what would have been the final 12 months of his original deal.

But his loan has now been cancelled and he has also left Everton.

It is not yet clear if the Blues have paid up his remaining salary in full or reached a settlement to cancel his contract.
