Shanghai Masters snooker: Mark Allen beats Judd Trump to reach semi-finals

Mark Allen is through to the semi-finals of the Shanghai Masters after dismantling Judd Trump on Thursday.

The Antrim snooker star compiled five breaks over 50 as he eased to a 6-1 victory.

Breaks of 63 and 62 saw Allen race into a 2-0 lead which he extended before Trump hit back with a 109 to make it 3-1.

That's as good as it got for Trump with Allen dispatching further breaks of 55, 73 and 69 to claim an impressive victory.

The 33-year-old - currently ranked seventh in the world - will now meet Shaun Murphy or Jack Lisowski in the semi-finals.

Meanwhile, Neil Robertson beat Barry Hawkins 6-2 in Thursday's other quarter-final.

Australian Robertson will face Ronnie O'Sullivan or Kyren Wilson in the last four.
