This has been a vintage week for screen reunions - the Clueless cast posed for photos and the Parks and Recreation team hinted at a comeback show. But the most moving one yet comes courtesy of Shane West and Mandy Moore, who got back together for an A Walk To Remember reunion.
Mandy Moore reunited with her co-star and onscreen love interest when she received a well-deserved star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The Gotham star presented Moore with a photo of the pair when they first met on the set of the schmaltzy Nicholas Sparks movie.
In the film, Mandy played a young preacher’s daughter dying of cancer who falls in love with the bad boy heartthrob teen dream played by West.
“We could not have been more opposite when we met,” the actor said about first meeting Moore. “I was busy wearing ill-advised clothes and having dubious hair choices and eye-liner in my garage punk band — or whatever that was — and you were killing it on the pop-star scene,” he said, alluding to her “Candy” days.
“Not only was this film a wonderful experience in every way, it also gave me the chance to fall for this fantastic woman,” he raved. Her This Is Us cast mates also joined Moore for the big day, including Milo Ventimiglia, Chrissy Metz and Justin Hartley.
This has been a tough year for the This is Us superstar. In February, she spoke to The New York Times about her ex-husband, Ryan Adams. She called his behavior psychologically abusive and said he used to tell her, “You’re not a real musician because you don’t play an instrument."
Now, she’s back in the spotlight and hopefully, ready to sing again - although it looks like (other than this one) there won’t be a proper A Walk to Remember sequel anytime soon.
