Shane Ross assures Stepaside about new garda station following car break-ins

A south Dublin suburb has been hit with a spate of car break-ins in recent weeks.

There are understood to have been a number of cars broken into at Stepaside Park this morning at 5am.

And residents living in the Cainfort Estate, also in Stepaside, have also reported similar incidents within the estate.

Local TD Shane Ross said he has contacted gardai to address the issue - and took the opportunity to remind residents that Stepaside garda station is due to re-open in a number of weeks.

He said: "It has been brought to my attention that a number of cars in Stepaside Park were broken into overnight at around 5am. If anyone has any information or CCTV footage please contact Dundrum Garda Station at 01 666 5600.

"My office was also contacted on December 23rd by a number of residents from Cairnfort Estate in Stepaside regarding cars being broken into. I contacted Blackrock Garda Station to highlight the issue, please see their response below.
