Shane Roche to be ratified as Wexford football manager in January

Shane Roche is set to be ratified as senior Wexford football manager in January.

Roche took charge of the Model County on an interim basis after Paul Galvin stepped down as boss in September.

Wexford lost to Wicklow in the first round of the Leinster Football Championship earlier this month, going down by 0-11 to 2-09.

Wexford GAA said in a statement: "Wexford GAA are delighted to confirm Shane Roche will be proposed for the ratification as Senior Football Manager for a 2-year-term at January's County Board meeting.

"Shane's selectors will be former Wexford Senior Footballers Philip Wallace and Anthony Masterson.

"Former Carlow Senior Hurler Peter Shaw comes on board as S&C Coach.

"Shane and his backroom team had been appointed on an interim basis for the recent championship campaign."
