Shane Ray posts farewell message to Broncos fans on Instagram

After signing a one-year contract with the Ravens, former Broncos outside linebacker Shane Ray posted the following message on his Instagram page:

I had so many emotions and thoughts coming to me thinking about this. I decided to only speak on the positives. First I want to thank Broncos country and their fans for all the love the gave me. The relationships I built within the city of Denver off the field are things that I can’t replace. Secondly the bond that I built with all of my bros in the locker room and our olb room was legendary. I can’t thank Von and Demarcus enough for taking me,shaq, and many others under y’all wings and teaching us to be pros, and leading us to a championship.

There are things people looking from the outside in don’t understand and of course will have negative things to say about my time in Denver but I’m past that. All I can say is god has blessed me with a new opportunity the day before my 26th birthday and I can’t wait to take advantage of it. Always love and I wish my brothers nothing but success. Healthy body, and finally peace of mind. Thank you guys for everything!

Ray will likely compete for a starting job in Baltimore.

Denver, meanwhile, will likely have Jeff Holland and Malik Reed serve as their new rotational pass rushers behind starters Von Miller and Bradley Chubb. Last year, Ray and Shaq Barrett were the backup outside linebackers. Barrett also left during free agency, signing a one-year deal with the Buccaneers.
