Shane Lowry has Tiger Woods smiling after the most sensational chip-in at the Masters

You know you've hit a world-class shot when Tiger Woods smiles and shake his head in disbelief.

Shane Lowry never had the chance to play with the game's greatest until he was paired with the reigning champion at Augusta this week.

And the Offaly man had Woods and commentators purring with a shot on the 14th hole.

Lowry came up short of the green on the par four and with today's flag placement left himself in a treacherous position.

Others have tried and failed to get it close from the same spot with a putter today but Lowry, renowned as one of the best chippers in the game, got out his lob wedge.

He pitched so it skipped a few time before grabbing on the top of the rise and then the severe slope saw it fall all the way into the hole.

Many people are already calling it the shot of the tournament and it got a nod of approval Mr. Woods too.

Lowry battled well to finish one under after 36 holes and make the halfway cut and will be looking to make a charge up the leaderboard this evening.
