Shane Lowry dive bombs into swimming pool to gatecrash Padraig Harrington's video

A cannonball dive from Shane Lowry into a swimming pool stole the limelight from Padraig Harrington in a hilarious video posted on social media.

The Irish pair were in Florida last week to compete at the PGA Tour's Honda Classic, and while the tournament was a disappointing one for both players it didn't stop them from enjoying themselves.

Ryder Cup captain Harrington, who missed the halfway cut at PGA National, posted a review of his tournament online.

In the video he told that he had been staying at Open Champion Lowry's house in Palm Beach, Florida. Cue the Offaly man to dive bomb fully clothed into the swimming pool behind Harrington.

"I have to say that maybe the golf didn't go as well as I wanted this week but the craic was mighty," said Harrington.

After opening with rounds of 67 and 66 to put himself in contention at PGA National, Lowry endured a frustrating weekend.

Two four-over par rounds of 74 saw him plummet to tied 36th place on the leaderboard as he continues to search for the form that saw him become a major champion in 2019.

The 33-year-old is desperate to make the European team for September's Ryder Cup in Whistling Straits, Wisconsin. But he is currently outside the qualifying players on both the European Points and World Points lists and would need a captain's pick from Harrington as it stands.

The Honda Classic was won by Australian Matt Jones whose 12-under-par total was five shots better than second-placed Brandon Hagy.
