Shane Long scores fastest Premier League goal of all time

Southampton’s Shane Long broke the Premier League record for fastest goal scored on Tuesday when he put the ball in against Watford in just six seconds.

A pass back from Watford off the kickoff went to their central defender, who tried to play a long ball up field but had his kick blocked by Long. The ball bounced directly into his path and he took a tidy touch and finished over the Watford keeper.

Opta had the goal at six seconds. NBC Sports had it at seven seconds. Either way it beats the previous record of 10 seconds set by Tottenham legend Ledley King at Bradford City in 2000.

Here’s the goal, and then join us after the jump for the same awful joke everyone made.

Want to guess what joke everyone made?

Come on. Come on…..

YOU KNOW THE JOKE.

LET IT WASH OVER YOU.

Oh, wait. What’s this? A different joke?

I’ll take it.
