Shane Duffy trolled by Rangers fans as Celtic Park 'thank you' banner unveiled

Jubilant Rangers fans have sent a thank you message to Celtic defender Shane Duffy with a banner outside Parkhead.

The Ibrox side are on the verge of Premiership glory and could win their 55th title this weekend.

If Steven Gerrard's side win against St Mirren the pressure will be on Celtic to avoid dropping any points against Dundee United to prolong the inevitable.

However, some supporters have started the celebrations early and have poked fun at Ireland captain Duffy after his struggles with the Hoops this term.

The loanee has struggled for form since his arrival on loan from Brighton and has struggled to hold down a regular starting place.

The 29-year-old has now lost his spot in the team to Lennoxtown academy graduate Stephen Welsh after several costly errors.

Ahead of his return south of the border, Rangers fans took a cheeky dig at the defender with a banner reading: 'Thanks for the memories Shane Duffy."

A red, white and blue flare is seen on the Celtic Way behind the banner.
