Shane Duffy to Celtic latest as Neil Lennon confirms interest in Brighton centre back

Neil Lennon has confirmed his interest in bringing Shane Duffy to Celtic.

The Brighton and Ireland defender has been heavily linked with a move to Parkhead in recent weeks.

And now the Celtic boss has confirmed that they have made early enquiries as to the 28-year-old's availablility.

He told OTB Sports: "We have made tentative enquiries" adding "and we'll see how that goes".

Lennon previously wouldn't be drawn on whether they'd be making a move for the central defender who struggled for matches under Seagulls boss Graham Potter last season.

Celtic could face some stiff competition in their bid to sign him with Premier League clubs also interested.

According to reports David Moyes is keen to reunite with the player at West Ham, with both men having worked together at Everton.

Suggestions are that Celtic have been told they'd need to pay a £2million loan fee should they wish to sign Duffy on a season-long deal.
