Shane Duffy sends cryptic message as Celtic transfer target returns for Brighton pre-season

Celtic target Shane Duffy has returned to pre-season training with Brighton - but immediately hinted his time is running out at the club.

The centre back is likely to leave during the transfer window with Adam Webster, Ben White, Lewis Dunk and summer signing Joel Veltman all in front of him.

Neil Lennon has confirmed that he's held preliminary talks with the Republic of Ireland centre back with the club looking to bring him north of the border on loan.

There's also an option of a permanent deal if they can agree a reasonable fee, with Brighton wanting a minimum of £5m for the 28-year-old, who is out of contract next summer.

Duffy is also being chased by David Moyes, with the pair having worked closely together during their time at Everton.

The Derry-born centre back is a boyhood Celtic fan, though, and the Hoops hope that can convince him to move to Glasgow.

And he took to Twitter on his return to training to post a picture with the caption: "Back with the boys" along with an hourglass emoji and a football emoji.

The hourglass emoji is often used by people to signal that time is running out and Duffy could be hinting that his future at Brighton is all but over.

Many Hoops fans were also quick to try and fix his spelling in the replies, with many replying with the word 'bhoys' in the hope Duffy is soon one of them.
