Record Sport revealed talks over a potential £2m Celtic loan are underway but the Premiership champions face a signing battle with the likes of West Ham, West Brom and Burnley also keen.
And the man of the moment addressed the furore by admitting he's keeping a keen eye on developments as he appears poised to leave the Seagulls.
Posting on Instagram, he wrote: "Great time at home for a couple of weeks with my babies, now let's go see what this season brings."
Duffy signed off with the eyes emoji and a football, indicating that something is afoot with his professional future.
It's understood the Republic of Ireland international would be keen on a move to Glasgow but Celtic are wary of being outgunned by a host of English big-hitters.
A source close to the talks told us: “Shane has made it clear that he’s a massive Celtic supporter and that could make all the difference in terms of his decision. If he did chose Celtic then it would be more of a romantic notion rather than a financial decision.
"Celtic are certainly part of the conversation but there is also a realisation that this will be a very difficult deal to do because it’s impossible to compete with the wages on offer in the English Premier League.”
