Shams: Warriors are bringing in swingman Glenn Robinson III

The Golden State Warriors all of a sudden need help on the wing. Kevin Durant has left to join the Brooklyn Nets, Klay Thompson will miss the 2019-20 season with a torn ACL, and while recently acquired D’Angelo Russell helps, they will need more than just him.

According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, the Warriors have brought in more help in that department by agreeing to a 2-year deal with former Detroit Pistons swingman Glenn Robinson III. He averaged 4.2 points and 1.5 rebounds while playing in 47 games with 18 starts in 2018-19. He brings a lot of athleticism as evidenced by his 2017 Slam Dunk contest title.

The Warriors are undergoing a big change after a dominant five year run where they made the NBA Finals all five seasons and winning three titles. With the losses of Durant and Thompson, the likely loss of DeMarcus Cousins, and the new additions, they are certainly not going to be the same team.

It will be interesting to keep an eye on Golden State moving forward and seeing what else they add to the roster to remain competitive in the tough Western Conference.
