Shams Mulani bowls Parsee into semis

MUMBAI: Mumbai left-arm spinner Shams Mulani, who missed the league stage of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy after being struck by Covid-19, took five for 11 top help Parsee Gymkhana beat National CC by seven wickets and move into the semifinals of the Madhav Mantri A & B Division on Friday. Mulani's deadly spell ensured National were skittled out for merely 79 in 23.5 overs.

In another quarterfinal, left-arm seamer Atif Attarwala took four for 22, but couldn't prevent Payyade SC from a 113-run defeat against Karnatak SA.

Karnatak SA 220-8 in 22 overs (Akash Parkar 79, Vinayak Bhoir 57*; Atif Attarwala 4-22) beat Payyade SC 107 in 16.1 overs (Prasad Pawar 32; Vinayak Bhoir 3-18, Tanush Kotian 3-27).
