Shams: Lakers to face off against Celtics during MLK Day 2020 games

If there is a marquee date that the NBA is planning around, there’s a significant chance that LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers will be featured. But as we await the release of the NBA’s full schedule later this afternoon, we do have some more info on big dates that the Lakers will be involved in.

One of those marquee dates on the NBA schedule is Martin Luther King Jr. Day, which will feature a matchup between the Lakers and Boston Celtics, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania.

Last year the Lakers faced off against the Golden State Warriors on MLK Day. By that time, Lonzo Ball had already injured his ankle and the reality that LeBron wouldn’t be back soon from his groin injury started to set in. Hopefully for the Lakers, the season won’t feel doomed by the time they head to Boston like it was last year against the Warriors.
