Shams: Jayson Tatum in NBA health and safety protocol 10-14 days

All-NBA forward Jayson Tatum will reportedly be required to enter a 10-14 day-long quarantine while he works through the NBA’s COVID-19 health and safety protocols, according to the Athletic’s Shams Charania.

At present it is unclear whether the Duke product has been diagnosed with the viral disease behind the ongoing pandemic or if it is just a contact-tracing precaution, but with three players — big men Grant Williams, Robert Williams III and Tristan Thompson — all out with either a positive, asymptomatic case (Time Lord) or as a precaution (Grant Williams and Thompson), the Celtics are dangerously low on players.

News broke that All-Star point guard Kemba Walker has been cleared to resume practice with the team, but isn’t anticipated back for most of a week at soonest, and wing Romeo Langford also remains out recovering from wrist surgery for a torn tendon.

Stay tuned for updates to this developing story.
