Team news

Gary O'Neill, Lee Grace and Alana Mannus are all back in contention for selection, with veteran shot-stopper Mannus potentially returning after two months out.

However, the biggest news is the possible return of two-time PFAI Player of The Year Jack Byrne. The playmaker had been expected to miss the tie with a knee injury that kept him out of Friday's draw with Drogheda but Hoops manager Stephen Bradley has issued a hopeful update on his talisman.

He said: “I thought Jack would be ready for Friday but the day before it was too sore. Today is better.

“It just needs time to settle. Jack doesn’t like being injured, so he was trying to push it (to play in Drogheda).

“The few days over the weekend have helped him. He was out (on the training pitch) early this morning and he did well.”

What has been said?

"We all want to go and show we're a really good team in Europe," Bradley told RTE. "We did OK last year but we want to improve on that and try to be better. It's difficult, we know that, but that is the aim; we want to be better than we were last year.

"Last year there was a mixture of a lot of things that hurt us in the group stages. The availability of players was a big one.

"We had a really small squad to work from in the end. We had to try to balance that with the league. This year I think the squad is in a better place. We have players back from injury now. I think we're better equipped to fight on all fronts."

Hoops striker Rory Gaffney said: "It's a great opportunity and very exciting. I suppose this is why we work so hard to win the league; get the reward of Tuesday night and the chance to fight for a place in group stages of European football.

"It's a huge game. We know they have an attacking threat but we back ourselves. When we have the ball and we get opportunities to make something, we know we will do it."

Who to look out for?

Faroe Island international Kamint Olsen, who has more than 50 caps and 10 international goals to his name, is one of the standout players for Breidablik although his national team colleague Patrik Johannesen will miss the game through injury.

Meanwhile, two all-time greats in Andri Rafn Yeoman and Damir Muminovic feature for Breidablik, as the two have over 700 appearances together.
