Shamrock Rovers have had their stadium ban overturned and supporters can now attend the opening game of the season.
The Hoops have instead seen their fine increased to €5,000.
Rovers were in the dock after a fan set off fireworks at last season's clash against Waterford at the RSC.
The match had to be stopped as the fireworks exploded over the pitch and in the stands, with two Rovers supporters arrested.
A disciplinary committee slapped Rovers with a stadium ban and undisclosed fine for Friday week's opening league game against UCD in Tallaght, but the behind closed doors aspect has been reversed.
The FAI statement today read: "The Football Association of Ireland can confirm the conclusion to the investigation around a fireworks incident at the Waterford FC v Shamrock Rovers FC fixture on November 5 th last.
"This matter has progressed through the Association’s judicial process and an independent Appeal Committee has now ruled that the original decision to play the Shamrock Rovers FC v UCD AFC game on February 18 th behind closed doors be set aside and the fine imposed on Shamrock Rovers FC be increased to €5,000."
