Shamrock Rovers duo in running for SSE Airtricity/SWAI 'Personality of the Year' award

League champions Shamrock Rovers are double handed on the shortlist for the SSE Airtricity / SWAI ‘Personality of the Year’ award.

Star midfielder Jack Byrne - whose future at the club remains uncertain - is nominated alongside head coach Stephen Bradley.

Dundalk captain Chris Shields is also shortlisted after leading the Lilywhites to FAI Cup glory and the Europa League group stages.

Bohemians boss Keith Long is another candidate on the six-man shortlist after leading the Gypsies to a second-placed finish in the Premier Division.

Ollie Horgan masterminded a great escape with Finn Harps which is acknowledged while Tim Clancy completes the shortlist after leading Drogheda United to promotion.

The Goalkeeper of the Year award will be contested by Alan Mannus of Shamrock Rovers, Sligo Rovers’ Ed McGinty and David Odumosu of Drogheda United.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the annual SWAI awards bash cannot take place so the awards will be presented at a virtual ceremony on December 14.
