Shamrock Rovers will face Young Boys of Switzerland if they get past Slovan Bratislava in their Champions League opener.
The unseeded Hoops were yesterday drawn away to the Slovakian champions before hosting them in Tallaght.
The second qualifying round draw took place at UEFA headquarters today and Rovers would be at home first against Young Boys if they progress.
Young Boys reached the Champions League group stages in 2018/19 where they beat Juventus 2-1.
But they still finished bottom of a group that also included Manchester United and Valencia.
They have also reached the Europa League group stages on seven occasions since the 2010/11 season.
In the Europa Conference League, Sligo Rovers are on another European collision course with Rosenborg.
The Norwegian giants are the prize on offer if they get past FH Hafnarfjördur of Iceland in the opening round of the new Europa Conference league.
In 2014, the Bit O’Red lost 4-3 on aggregate to Rosenborg in the Europa League second qualifying round.
Dundalk will face Levadia Tallinn of Estonia or Gibraltar’s St Joseph's if they beat Welsh side Newtown.
And Dudelange of Luxembourg await the winner of Bohemians’ first round clash with Icelandic side Stjarnan.
UEFA this week confirmed that no away fans will be allowed to attend qualifying or playoff matches in any of the three European competitions.
A statement read: “With this decision UEFA intends to act responsibly at a time where restrictive measures are still in place in order to avoid the spread of infections.
“Every team will have the possibility to enjoy the support of their public when playing at home.”
