Shamrock Rovers are better now than Michael O'Neill's title winning side, says defiant Stephen Bradley

Shamrock Rovers' defiant boss Stephen Bradley insists his side is better than the one he won a league title with under Michael O'Neill.

His side fall eight points behind in the title race on Friday but, ahead of tonight's Dublin derby with St Pat's, insisted the Hoops "played Dundalk off the park".

Bradley said: "What we showed is that when we play like that there's nobody who can match it. We showed that we're a team that will be right there until the end of the season.

"I can't fault any of the performance. It's a hard one, you get beaten and you're frustrated but I honestly thought we had control of the game."

Asked if Rovers could still catch Dundalk, Bradley replied: "One hundred per cent. When we won the title on the last day of the season here, I think we were six behind with four to play and we weren't as good as this team.

"Bohs were a lot stronger than us then and we won on the last day. There's so many points to play for."

It's a big statement for Bradley to make. "I was in that dressing-room and we were very functional, very well organised but we weren't as good as this group.

"If they perform like that and are a bit more ruthless in the final third, they'll be lethal."
