This is the shameful moment that two callous thugs steal a scooter and a child's scrambler bike from a six-year-old boy in north Dublin.
Similar to The Wet/Sticky Bandits from the famous Christmas film Home Alone 2 who rob from children, the disgraceful duo were caught red handed on camera lifting the kid's items from a shed at a property in Finglas in the early hours of Monday morning.
Not content with snatching just one of the child's prized possessions, the greedy thieves hit the little kid with a double whammy as he woke up excited to play with his "toys" during summer holidays.
The scooter was returned to the house the next day - but the scrambler is still missing.
And potential buyers are being warned to keep an eye out for the blue PY80 bike on various websites.
The homeowner told Dublin Live: "We got the scooter back, that was left outside but his toy bike is still missing.
"I'm 110% sure that they are local people too. I will pay whoever finds my bike or has information about it.
"Or, if the thieves are looking at this, just leave the bike back outside and nothing more will be done."
His father claims that he ensures the boy is careful and drives slow when riding the scrambler.
He said: "An age shouldn't matter once it's used in the right way which it is.
"It's not that fast. It's only 79cc, you'd be lucky if you got 30miles an hour out of it."
Gardai have now launched a manhunt to find the duo behind the thefts.
A Garda spokesman told Dublin Live: "We are investigating an incident that occurred on the 13 July 2020 at approximately 1:55am at a residential premises Ratoath Road, Finglas.
"A scrambler bike was taken from the property."
He added: "No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing."
